Affinity

On Uldlav all creatures contain what is called affinity. This is the central essence that makes up a portion of their soul. While on other planets, most creatures cannot access this without divine or demonic intervention, Uldlav was gifted with both creatures who can naturally tap this essence and scripts for the humans.

Below is a list of all the orders of affinity that exist on Uldlav. All orders are based off a mix of angelic and demonic writing as devised by Adam, the first man. Each order is made up of base domains and users from Belvya have set braids they wear in their hair to indicate their order. While natural users outside of Belvya do not adhere to the braids, the structure of available orders and naming conventions are used across Uldlav.

Siauulya

Domains: Light/Flesh

Siauulya are the healers of all the orders. If trained in Belvya, all are required to take a Hippocratic oath to do no harm.

Giauulya

Domains: Animals/Plants
Belvyan Braid:

Giauulya are the farmers and animal caretakers of the orders. They are very closely tied to nature and are often made fun of by the other orders as they are seen as less powerful. Most have just never met an effective Giauulya, however.

Reiuulya

Domains: Fire/Stone
Belvyan Braids: 6 weave

Reiuulya are the builders, engineers, and general creators of the order. They are often viewed as tedious, overly obsessed with their inventions, and difficult to work with. However, they play a very important role in Belvyan Societies.

Feiuulya

Domains: Wind/Lightning

Feiuulya are the lawkeepers of Belvyan society. They are seen as some of the most powerful, since they can manipulate aspects of weather itself, and are seen as the wielders of Uld–the father of all Gods–power.

Maiuulya

Domains: Water/Ice

Maiuulya are the politicians and bureaucrats who help keep Belvyan society running. They are generally liked and trusted by the other orders.

Diauulya

Domains: Darkness/Affinity
Belvyan Braid: None

This is the lost sixth order that the early inhabitants of Uldlav suppressed after Adam’s departure back to Earth. It is seen as the order of the gods of night and death, and was greatly feared due to its ability to manipulate affinity itself.

The aristocracy of Uldvar is divided into two castes of houses. The Vels and the Las. Vels are seen as higher houses that own the main swathes of land within Uldvar’s realms, whose heads are the main regents of the area. The Las are seen as lesser houses that make up of merchants and lower-level nobles who aid the higher heirms in ruling their respective areas. Most La houses are earned statuses either through service or mercantile success.
